After a 20 year collaboration Thomas Acda and Paul de Munnik decided to call it quits. Was Thomas Acda keen on pursuing a solo-career right after they parted ways? We don’t know that. All we know is that he went on to direct two movies, write a novel and the songs for both ‘De Marathon’ and ‘All Stars’, two hugely successful Dutch musicals. On top of that he starred in the award-winning musical ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ last season, for which he received the ‘best actor’ award. And then, finally, there was ‘Motel’. With his first solo-performance Acda is currently touring Dutch theatres.
On March 15 Zip Records released ‘Motel’ the album. It contains 12 beautiful songs with Acda’s trademark lyrics, masterful in simplicity.
